Start with the vehicle and the route
The right arrangement depends on what you are shipping, where the truck can stop and how flexible your dates are. A transport preference helps a provider assess your request; it does not reserve equipment.
Choose a trailer type
- Open car shipping uses an open trailer. Consider it for an everyday vehicle when exposure to weather and road conditions is acceptable.
- Enclosed car shipping adds a trailer enclosure. Discuss it for a collectible, specialty finish or vehicle with particular handling needs.
Add the access and loading details
Door-to-door shipping concerns pickup and delivery access, not trailer type. A safe nearby meeting place may be necessary.
A non-running vehicle needs a condition review. Explain whether it rolls, steers and brakes, and whether keys are available. Suitable equipment and carrier acceptance must be confirmed.
Compare the same shipment
Ask providers to assess the same vehicle, condition, locations and pickup window. Read the total price, payment schedule, cancellation terms and assigned carrier coverage before deciding. A low figure with different assumptions is not a like-for-like quote.
MileRelay provides planning information and is being prepared as an independent referral site. Bold Auto Transport is the intended referral provider; its arrangements and the assigned carrier's terms are separate.
Preparation preview: forms create test records. Do not enter real personal information. No carrier is booked and no request is sent to Bold Auto Transport.
