A quote should identify the pickup and delivery locations, vehicle, running condition, transport method and timing. Without these, a dollar figure may describe a different shipment from yours.
The information to keep consistent
- Route and access: cities or ZIPs, realistic meeting locations and restrictions.
- Vehicle: year, make, model, dimensions and modifications.
- Condition: whether it starts, rolls, steers and brakes, plus loading needs.
- Transport: open or enclosed and any specific equipment requirements.
- Timing: ready date, pickup flexibility and any actual deadline.

Ask what the total includes
Request the payment schedule, cancellation terms and conditions for any revised price. Clarify who receives each payment and when a carrier is considered assigned. Compare the same scope across providers and keep the written terms.
