“Does not run” is only the starting point
A non-running vehicle may be eligible for transport, but the exact condition determines how it could be loaded and unloaded. This is a conditional request, not an assurance that every damaged or immobile vehicle can be accepted.
Describe what the vehicle can do
Prepare an accurate answer to each question:
- Does it start and move under its own power?
- Can it roll freely, steer and brake?
- Are the wheels and tires present and usable?
- Are keys available, and can the steering or transmission be released?
- Are there leaks, collision damage, fire or flood damage, or other hazards?
- Is it stored in an accessible yard, garage or parking area?
If you are unsure, say so. Photos may help a provider assess a situation, but never put yourself at risk trying to move or inspect a damaged vehicle.
Equipment and acceptance are separate decisions
A winch is not a universal solution. Depending on condition and access, the provider may need to discuss other equipment, site assistance or an alternative arrangement. Any loading method and responsibility at both ends must be agreed before pickup.
Disclose auction release requirements and collection deadlines if applicable. Do not assume auction staff will provide loading assistance or that a carrier can collect the vehicle immediately.
Price and timing need a specific review
Equipment, loading time and carrier availability may change the cost and pickup window. There is no fixed non-running surcharge published by MileRelay. Ask for a written quote that describes the disclosed condition and the accepted loading arrangement.
Coverage for a damaged or inoperable vehicle must also be checked against the assigned carrier's terms. Do not assume it matches the treatment of an undamaged running car.
Bold publishes an inoperable vehicle service; its team and an assigned carrier must confirm the particular case. Compare transport options before making a selection.
Preparation preview: forms create test records. Do not enter real personal information. No carrier is booked and no request is sent to Bold Auto Transport.
