CAR SHIPPING, EXPLAINED

Planning a Florida to New York car shipment

Review the northbound move on its own terms instead of reusing assumptions from your trip south.

Treat the return as a new request

The vehicle may be the same, but direction, dates and available carriers can change. Give the Florida pickup and New York delivery city or ZIP, then ask for current written terms. A previous southbound price does not establish the return price.

Check a stored vehicle before pickup

If the car has been parked for a season, verify whether it starts, rolls, steers and brakes. Disclose a flat tire, missing key or other change before a carrier accepts the load. Read non-running transport if the condition is uncertain.

Plan release and arrival independently

Confirm the Florida property's collection rules and who can release the car if you leave first. At the New York end, discuss truck access, parking restrictions and a person able to receive it. A location in New York City and one elsewhere in the state may need different arrangements.

Ask about the pickup window and transit separately. Review payment, cancellation and coverage terms rather than relying on an old email or an illustrative website figure.
