Confirm the car is ready to leave
Before you request pickup, confirm that payment has cleared and the seller can release the vehicle. Ask who will hand over the keys and which opening hours the carrier must work within. A shipping request alone does not authorize a dealer or auction to release a car.
Get the vehicle details right
Keep the year, make, model, and running condition handy. Explain whether the car starts, rolls, steers, and brakes. Mention low clearance, modifications, missing wheels, or damage so the transport provider can discuss suitable loading equipment.
Plan both ends of the trip
The pickup and delivery addresses must be accessible to the assigned carrier. A large transport truck may need a nearby meeting point. Confirm the contact person at each end and make sure they can respond when the carrier coordinates arrival.
Compare the same shipment
When reviewing offers, use the same locations, vehicle, equipment, and date window. Ask what the price includes, when payment is due, and what happens if pickup timing changes. A planning estimate is not a confirmed carrier reservation.
Keep a condition record
Ask the seller for recent photos and make sure the pickup condition is recorded. At delivery, inspect the vehicle and compare its condition with the pickup record before signing. Document any differences with the carrier.
Your next step
