Separate pickup from the journey
A pickup window is the period when a carrier is expected to collect the vehicle. Transit time describes the journey after collection. Neither should be treated as a guaranteed arrival date unless an accepted written agreement specifically says so.
Share the dates that matter
Tell your coordinator about a move-in date, flight, seller deadline, or the day you need the car for work. Distinguish your preferred pickup date from a deadline you cannot change. Flexibility can affect the options available, but it does not guarantee a lower price.
Ask about access and availability
Route demand, suitable equipment, loading schedules, road conditions, and weather can affect planning. A non-running car or an enclosed trailer request may require different capacity from a standard running sedan on an open carrier.
Build a practical backup plan
Arrange who will attend pickup and delivery and how they will be contacted. If you depend on the car immediately after a move, consider a buffer and backup transportation. Confirm who can provide status updates once a carrier has been assigned.
Questions to ask before booking
- What pickup window is currently available for my route?
- What is the estimated transit time after collection?
- What changes could affect those estimates?
- Who should I contact for updates?
- What cancellation or rescheduling terms apply?
